Stained glass golden owl has been handcrafted using dense golden amber glass along with ivory white glass for the body. The eyes are of textured transparent golden amber glass along with black glass gems for the pupils. This owl suncatcher measures 7 1/2 inches tall by 6 1/2 inches wide, 19 cm by 16.5 cm.
All of the glass pieces except for the black pupils have been cut by hand, wrapped with copper foil and then soldered together. First, the bird's body was completed, next the wings were tack soldered to the body along with the bird's bill. The pupils were then glued in place using industrial strength adhesive. A single loop has been soldered to the back and chain will be included for hanging.
