Bright colorful glass pieces arranged in a rainbow fashion radiating from the center makes this fused glass bowl vibrant and exciting. Creating this piece was a two step process involving glass and the heat of a kiln.
First I cut and arranged the glass pieces on a clear glass base that I had dusted with powdered white glass. Once complete I fused the pieces together fully. The second session in the kiln involved placing the textured glass on top of a bowl mold, heated to allow it to take the shape and then cooled very slowly to allow the glass molecules to realign and give the completed piece strength.
Measures 8 1/2 inches diameter at the opening, the base measures 4 3/4 inches wide at 2 inches tall. 22 cm at the opening with a 12 cm base by 5 cm tall. Food safe, hand wash only.
